ITU World championships Rimini - Italy

Well the worlds was a tough nut to crack and after the initial excitement wore off, I soon realised that having not done an Olympic distance duathlon since the Euros was going to make this a baptism of fire. And so it proved. The build-up was fantastic and the first run started off more like a bull-run than a 10k run. I started feeling rough about half-way in and suffered cramp almost as soon as I left T1. The bike was mostly about damage limitation and the final run was about getting round. Still, a great experience and I was 40th in my age group overall. Roll on next year in.......North Carolina.

Out on the first run and on the bike
