Barking Park 5k

Ok it's grim. Barking isn't exactly the Eden of the East but this annual 5k is always on Bank Holiday Monday and always gets a classy field so it had to be a bit of handy speedwork before the run-fest that will be the London duathlon.

Given the calibre of recent winners I was hoping for a top 5 position but I ended up with 2nd. Unfortunately I would have been 1st had I not been pipped in the last 20 metres.

Sri Chinmoy 5k race, Battersea park

Another one of my favourites, I can't seem to stop coming to Battersea park. It such a beautiful place to run even though people keep trying to persuade me it's in South London.

Anyway, lets keep it short and sweet. A bit of company until about 2k and then it was mine for the keeping. A tasty last k saw me nip until 16 minutes which was ok considering the lack of competition and heat. Alas no snaps.
